Felix Ever After
by Kacen Callender
I’ve read many times that reading fiction helps people be more empathetic. I agree. I don’t read fiction often, but Felix Ever After is certainly a book that helped me be more empathetic on topics I am still trying to learn about. What a great way to learn. This book tackles so many topics – pronouns, transgender characters, gay characters, love, romance, bullying, identity, and race. WHOAH. This book felt so real. You feel for these characters – the ones you are rooting for and even the ones you dislike. And a bonus for me was that Felix was able to express feelings through art! Bravo Kacen Callender.
This paper was part of a 12″ x 12″ sheet. I find the colors and patterns are very overwhelming at that size, but as a bookmark, it’s quite charming.
